Last day of the Trial of Revenge against Vibares, Oñate and Armoa
The ruling will be known on May 7
IN CALETA OLIVIA, THE COURT SOUGHT TO ATTACK
THE RIGHT TO STRIKE!
IMMEDIATE ACQUITTAL OF THE OIL WORKERS OF SANTA CRUZ!
Today, from noon on, the second and final day of the trial of Armoa, Vibares and Oñate took place. Spearheaded by the prosecutor Candia, servant of the oil companies, and the judges K (= Kirchnerite, NT), the regime seeks to attack the right to strike and set an enormous precedent of punishment against all of us workers that are looking for a way to defend our conquests.
ON MAY 7 LET’S ALL GO TO CALETA OLIVIA FOR THE ACQUITTAL OF THE COMRADES!
Today, Esperanza and Berrios, two of the witnesses sought by Prosecutor Candia, both supervisors in the BACSSA company, testified, who were the ones who filed the complaint against the comrades.
After the statements of the two witnesses for the complaint began the allegations.
In his plea, Prosecutor Candia blamed the comrades for aggravated coercion and threats, and requested two years of conditional compliance prison for Vibares and Armoa and two years of effective compliance for Oñate for having a criminal record. WE CANNOT ALLOW SUCH AN OUTRAGE AGAINST WORKERS!
Lawyers Luciani and Toledo Vargas defenders of the workers told the court in their plea "You are actually judging the constitutional right to strike... We are close to May Day, may it not happen to us as with the martyrs of Chicago
where workers were executed without a proof."
The oil workers also made brave allegations. Oñate said clearly that "it was a wage claim, we had privileges that were not respected. I ask for justice, justice is our acquittal, because for a wage claim we cannot be in a criminal trial. I was prosecuted, but it was always because of union demands. I do not want to disrespect ... but let's end this trial, we want to continue with our lives.”
Armoa declared "it is very hard, we did not commit any crime, we are not burglars, we are workers. I ask for justice. "
Vibares for his part raised in his plea, "we are imputed for a union claim, we are good workers. We were imprisoned for three months just for defending our rights, the only thing we did was trying to defend our collective agreement. Many things happened here. We want justice, we want to defend our right to strike. "
ON MAY 7 THE JUSTICE OF THE OIL COMPANIES WILL DICTATE A SENTENCE! LET’S ALL MARCH TO THE CALETA OLIVIA COURTHOUSE FOR THE ACQUITTAL OF THE COMRADES!
