France – May 14, 2017
-After trade union’s bureaucracy and the social-imperialist Left blocked the road to the French May;
-After they militarized the country with the excuse of “terrorist attacks” which broke the unity between the workers and the refugees;
-After they waved the fascism phantom to impose the electoral trap...
With Macron, the French imperialism has strengthen the Fifth Republic regime
Emmanuel Macron takes office today after winning presidential elections after run-off against Marine Le Pen
These elections define how would France be placed in relation to the inter-imperialist disputes that have been exacerbated. With the crisis of the BRICS and the shrinking world market, the imperialist powers openly fight over the zones of influence, seek to recolonize China and Russia and keep with their businesses. USA has launched a fierce attack, even showing their gunboats. Before this US offensive, the French candidates for president represented different plans: Macron proposed to keep and reinforce the European Union and get an alliance with Germany; Le pen proposed to abandon it as England did with the Brexit.
With one plan or the other, the French bourgeoisie will unleash a superior attack to their workers, so they need to impose new defeats to the working class to obtain more profits to get out from the crisis.
This was the main issue behind these elections, not the fascism coming as a bourgeoisie has incited, blackmailing the exploited to vote them. Those candidates presented themselves as democracy defenders. This was a huge deceit to the workers – the social imperialist Left were necessary participants- that in fact, both Le Pen and Macron and all the politic forces that were aligning behind them, they are all loyal defenders of the Fifth Republic, which is anything but democratic. The whole French imperialist bourgeoisie – does not matter which project they have about the EU- commands invasions to Mali, Central African Republic, The Ivory Coast, Congo; this bourgeoisie leaves scorched earth and massacred people during the lootings and spoliation of their colonies; he maintains military bases and keeps safe their transnationals' business all along Africa, their backyard. That is the Fifth Republic imperialist butchers’ “democracy”! Barbarism for the oppressed peoples!
In France hinterland, this “democracy” means they will tear off all workers movement’s achievements and super exploitation in the worst conditions for all the immigrant working class. It means sticks and death for the black and Muslim youth by the police and gendarmeries’; it means prison for the fighters as Goodyear's workers and for the young people who faced the police repression last year, too. The imperialist butchers organized, with their Intelligence Services, the staged attacks attributed to ISIS in order to defend this “democracy” against terrorism, (making an islamophobia campaign) closing frontiers, bombing Syria north, militarizing the country all along. Also, that is why this “democracy” are detention camps for those refugees that are driven off as dogs, just like they did last October dismantling the Calais “jungle” and now they dismantle the Porte de la Chapelle camp, which sheltered 1,700 refugees. This is the democracy defended by bourgeoisie gangs and their Left minions!
This Fifth Republic regime results strengthened after last presidential elections because the bourgeoisie guarranted a replacement on the State command, where the outgoing Hollande is totally discredited after applying a brutal attack against the working class with El Khomri's Law, which eliminated the 35 weekly hours of work and the collective labor agreement, among other things.
The new president is a banker, ex- economy minister during Hollande government, who stood for elections outside of the SP, precisely because of the discredit he inspired. During his pass by the ministry of economy he applied a labor flexibilization law which allowed, among many other things, to work on Sundays in the big chains of commerce. This is what Macron comes to deepen in order to “reactivate the economy”. He already announced that, to save 60 billion euros from the public expenditure, he will eliminate 120,000 government workers vacancies, to reduce 10 billion euros from the employment insurance and 15 billion from the health insurance (public health). The French bourgeoisie needs to beat down even more their working class. They know the El Khomri Law was just one step.
The working class was carried out to the electoral trap because their great struggle last year was sold out by their leaders. In 2016, the working class and the youth came out to the streets against the El Khomri Law, they set up their own fight organisms, their strike pickets, Coordination Committees where worker-student unity was sealed, base line assemblies where worker democracy prevailed, they did pickets, barricades, massive marches –where youth, protected by worker columns, faced the police- and imposed general strike. Hollande´s government was almost falling down. They had overcome bureaucracy´s control and broken up with bourgeoisie institutions.
It was trade union bureaucracy ,leaded by Martinez from CGT, followed by the other union trade centrals, among them the one led by NPA, Solidaires, which subordinated their fight to the negotiating table with the government, telling that they did everything they could, saving Hollande´s head and the regime. Thus, they left the working class handcuffed to the employers and the Fifth Republic institutions’ feet, getting them in the presidential elections imposing them to choose their executioners among the different big capital representatives.
The reformist left and the Trotskyism’s renegades of NPA and Lutte Ouvrière played a main role in these elections, being part of the bourgeoisie trap “democracy vs. fascism”. Once again, they submitted the working class to the “democratic” bourgeoisie of the Fifth Republic because, though they did not ask expressly for voting Macron, they were warning that it was necessary to stop fascism. If that is not to ask the working class to vote for Macron...! The reformist left and the Trotskyism’s renegades legitimated the elections calling out for defending democracy and republican values... it is just that they are about to democratize the Fifth Republic regime and not about to overthrow it, to conquer the Paris Commune to lead the working class to t the take the power. But it is hardly surprising, because the NPA abandoned the struggle for the proletariat dictatorship many years ago..
They tell the working class that it is possible to get a “real democracy” within this regime, when the “democracy” of this imperialism is the barbarism in the colonial world and inside the working class movement. They are enemies of setting free the exploited ones from the colonies and semi-colonies of the imperialist stranglehold. They are also enemies of rising to the working class the issue that the enemy is at home! And nowadays they tell the working class that the key is the legislative elections the next month, and not to retake the road of the French May. It is just they are the Fifth Republic supporters: they are Social imperialist.
Enough of tricks! Down with the Fifth Republic imperialist butchers!
For a Congress of employed workers, unemployed ones, immigrants, refugees and workers from the colonies in order to unify the workers' ranks so they trust again in their own strength! We must prepare a fight plan to face the offensive of French imperialism!
Out from the worker organizations the bureaucracy hands, the working aristocracy and the social imperialist leaders, who betray the working class at every step!
We must retake the last year May-June fight, with the worker-student unity, with the strike pickets and the struggle Coordination Committees to make the regime and its institutions collapse! For a new 1968 May!
Down with the European Union!
Out the French imperialism from its colonies! Out the military bases and the French troops from the entire Africa! Enemy is at home!
