David has been a revolutionary Trotskyist member and leader of the Collective for the Refoundation of the IV International / FLTI and spokesman for the Internationalist Workers League (LOI-CI) / Workers Democracy, for 20 years up to now.
He went through more than a decade of working class struggles and militancy in the MAS. Since we met David, he shared with us years of struggle, often against the current, and he fought alongside us, without stopping for a single day of his militant life, under the program and flags of the Fourth International. David was one of those who fight every day of their lives That is why he was an essential revolutionary for the cause of socialism and the fight to re-found the World Party of the Socialist Revolution.
We met David in the year 2000/2001, fighting together since the outbreak of the Argentinean revolution, fighting to unite the employed and unemployed workers and to set up the armed dual-power organizations of the masses. We come together facing that farce of the "Bolivarian Revolution" and the capitulation of the renegades of Trotskyism to it. David was part of an enormous phenomenon of the working class and its militant vanguard that had had their experience with the different international currents that spoke in the name of Trotskyism and its program but at every step have already demonstrated their surrendering and denied it.
With David we also found ourselves fighting together with a revolutionary program against the Palestinian revolution that shook the world in those years. And then we came together with a common program and fighting in the acute Bolivian revolution of 2003. Together with us, he applied his whole militant strength to the task of setting up the first international regroupment that our current forged after its split from the PTS in 1998, the "Collective for an International Conference of the Principled Trotskyism", which was the starting point towards the foundation of the FLTI.
After an enormous experience with the LIT and the MAS, from whose ranks he came, the comrade agreed with the conclusions and political lessons that our current had drawn from the convulsive events marked by the surrendering of the USSR and all the former workers states by Stalinism. Together with us, the comrade understood that it was not Trotskyism that had not passed the test of the tragedy of 1989, but those who had reneged on its program and lived together with Stalinism, supporting it for decades.
David was part of that brave vanguard that emerged at the beginning of the 21st century internationally and in Argentina, of which he was flesh and blood. In front of this vanguard today we say that we will continue his fight so that from their own experience the workers conclude endorsing the program of revolutionary Marxism, for which the comrade fought for decades. As he did, the only privilege we want is to be in the front row of the fight alongside our class comrades.
David Soria's comrades, those who day after day have fought in Argentina together with him for our convictions, salute and feel comfort, along with his family, for the hundreds of messages, tributes, displays of solidarity and statements before his death that were sent to us by socialist organizations at the international level and in Argentina, seasonal workers of the vanguard of the working class and human rights organizations fighting for the freedom of the worker hostages in the dungeons of the murderous states. We are filled with emotion by the words of solidarity of the relatives of the 43 disappeared high school students in Mexico, of comrade Alberto Santillán, who is always present, and of the Commission of Convicted Workers of Las Heras, their Families and Friends. We also want to highlight the salutation from the relatives of the Senkata murdered workers in Bolivia, that of "Mothers against Repression" in the Spanish State and, as part of them, the message from Alfon's mother, whose son is a political prisoner in the grip of the monarchy, among others.
We will mention and publish each one of them in a special supplement of a forthcoming issue of "The International Workers' Organizer".
Actually, we have not been surprised by the enormous friendship, love and respect that so many people feel for our comrade, who fought a thousand and one times for our program with boldness, courage and honesty before the masses and proved to be loyal to the working class and a relentless fighter that was present in every decisive vanguard fight of the exploited, not only in Argentina, but also internationally.
As it can be seen, the revolutionary nuclei of Russia, which are fighting inside that nation against the butcher Putin, have sent their solidarity, as well as members of the Committee for the Struggle of the Marikana miners, who in 2012 staged one of the largest fights in South Africa and throughout the southern African continent. To this day messages of support continue to arrive from the Middle East, and from the Syrian resistance in particular.
We salute the currents of the working class which, in spite of not sharing our political positions, have offered their class solidarity at this hard time for all.
We also salute the different comrades who passed through our ranks at one time or another of our construction in the international working class and in Argentina, and that due to political differences have separated from us, who have expressed their solidarity and hold in great appreciation the struggle of comrade David Soria, with whom they also shared part of their militant life.
We especially salute the workers of Paty, who for more than 20 years suffered and resisted the siege of the bosses and the union bureaucracies, and who today, as if time had not erased anything of the past, sent their condolences and tributes to "their delegate", as they still call David, who has left us.
We tell all of them that this place of struggle in the trench that he leaves against capitalism and its henchmen, is and will be filled by all his comrades who fought alongside and were with David until his last breath.
To the fighters of the Syrian revolution we say that we will do everything for the place of struggle that David's departure leaves in the world working class to be taken into their hands by a new generation of workers and young revolutionaries so that the exploited make that heroic revolution their own.
From the resistance in Idlib and all of Syria, where our current is rooted in the heart of that revolutionary vanguard, enormous samples of solidarity, sadness, pain and commitment have come out at the death of their companion.
In honor of Comrade Abu Al Baraa and all of our comrades fallen in the trenches of combat against al-Assad, Putin and imperialism, we will not stop in the fight to defeat the thousands of slanders and ignominies committed by the traitors against the great Syrian revolution and its partisans.
From the FLTI we feel the fraternal salutation of the comrades of the JRCL-RMF of Japan and the young Zengakuren very closely. David carried to every rally and march the flag that the Tokyo workers sent the Paty workers in support of their fight, when they were brutally attacked by the employers and the government.
We have received solidarity and support from the 5 continents. Our small revolutionary nucleus does not fight in vain. Our comrades are recognized as loyal combatants of the world proletariat.
Then let's voice this tribute to Comrade David Soria and also our commitment to fight against all odds so that the world working class can have a general staff of the international socialist revolution and its best fighters, the forces to set up revolutionary Leninist combat parties that prepare the victory of the next victorious insurrections, that finish sweeping away this decaying imperialist capitalist system.
David's fight to refound the Fourth International, far from ending with his departure, will temper our forces to take vigorous steps forward.
We salute again the enormous solidarity that has comforted us. Let all the comrades and organizations of struggle of the working class that have accompanied us in this difficult moment know that they should count on us to take even one step together that allows the working class to advance against its class enemy.
Fighting for 20 years together with such a valuable revolutionary is a pride for us as militants of the Collective for the Refoundation of the Fourth International / FLTI and the Liga Obrera Internacionalista (LOI-CI) / Democracia Obrera (Internationalist Workers' League / Workers' Democracy) of Argentina.
