South Africa – 21st October, 2015

Long live the fight of the South African Students!

Facing a new attack of Zuma`s government, thousands of students take the streets across the country. Days ago, students of University of Wits (Witwatersrand) in Johannesburg went to fight against the announced increase of fee by the university authorities to enroll next year The fee increase they wanted to impose is 10.5% and the initial registration fee in college by 6%, which is approximately 10,000 rand, such figures would leave thousands of students unable to continue their education or enter to university.
The rage of the student movement did not wait. On Monday students block in Empire St, preventing the movement of cars, and imposed the closure of Wits University. This soon was spread to the entire country. Today they are developing mass protests in different universities as in Rhodes University, Pretoria, UKZN, Fort Hare, CPUT, Free State University and others.

In the case of Cape Town, the students burned tires, occupied buildings and rose up barricades at the University of Cape Town. University authorities denounced the students in struggle against the boss justice with claimed illegal the struggle, sending police to suppress the demonstration. 23 students were arrested. Facing this situation, more than 200 students, workers, lectures and university staff gathered in Rondebosch police station in solidarity with imprisoned students.
On 21/10, tens of thousands of students gathered outside Parliament, chanting slogans and waving free education, to protest against Education Minister, Blade Nzimande, against rising fees. Along with them, hundreds of teachers-lectures were supporting them. And again, the government and parliamentarians of this apartheid regime responded by sending police forces to repress, with tear gas and rubber bullets and taking dozens of people to jail.

Down with tuition fee! Free quality and Public education!
Let take the war cry of the Chilean students "education first for the son of the workers, then education for the bourgeois son" and "free and public education funded with the re-nationalization without compensation and under workers' control of the copper."
Increased the education budget based on progressive taxes on large fortunes and the expropriation without compensation of the imperialist banks and mines!

To do this: it is necessary to conquer the worker-student unity. We must unite with the workers who can make this claim a reality, starting with Marikana heroic miners who are still demanding justice for the 34 comrades killed at the hands of the imperialist Anglo American mine companies which are sinking our education. Worker-student National Committee to Fight! We must organize and prepare the general strike for all our demands for education, health, housing and wages of 12,500 rands for all workers!

Freedom to all the workers and student fighters in-jailed!

One fight, one demand, a single enemy throughout South Africa!
Out with Zuma and ANC in South Africa, Mugabe of Zimbabwe and other governments puppets of the transnational companies in the region! Enough with transnational companies that steal our wealth! Out with imperialism throughout Africa!

For a unified fight throughout South Africa!
