Argentina after the electoral trap: US imperialism is coming for everything
Down with the labor flexibility!
Out with the union bureaucracy that sells down our fights and conquests!
To defeat Milei, Trump’s servant:
We need to break with every boss politician!
They are controlled by the US embassy!
Let them all go away and not a single one remain!
Open the way for the masses self-organization!
Let’s unite and coordinate those who are fighting!
General strike!
The day after the elections labor flexibility was announced.
Following orders from Trump and US Ambassador Lamelas, Milei quickly arranged a meeting with the governors. There he presented them with the agreement and the discussions his ministers have been having with the scoundrels of the CGT and CTA union bureaucracy and announced that they are willing, as they have been doing for years, to finish handing over all the gains of the Argentine working class.
Only a blind person, a liar or a traitor could hide during the electoral farce that the labor flexibility was already agreed among the great bosses, the regime, the government, the bourgeoisie parties and the traitors of the Peronist union bureaucracy.
Those who called to trust in the pro-employers’ politicians’ bandits cave of Parliament must explain why, as they demanded Peronism to “confront Milei”, they hid that the very same Peronsim had already increased flexibility for 50% of the Argentinean working class in their latest government.
This same anti-workers and pro US Peronist party is the one that gave Milei quorum (he alone did not have enough representatives) to pass the Bases law.
Every boss from every sector, from the largest to the smallest employer wishes to be able to fire workers at will without compensation, or having them working without paid holidays, health leave or aguinaldo (semiannual bonus), and to have them working for 12 hours shifts like slaves.
Peronist unions are extremely state-run and union bureaucrats have been bought by governments of all furs with the money from the social services. CGT and CTA are included, all of them.
As with the Bases law, in order to defeat the people, some will say they are “against labor flexibility”, others will say “some articles need changes”. The CGT that wrote it together with the CEOs from Techint Group may threaten a call for a strike. But they have all agreed on it behind the people’s back.
Without the treason of the union bureaucracy that has handed in the working class to the capitalists tied up hands and feet, and its support for Milei by breaking every struggle, no one of the present dire straits for the working class would have been possible.
The conclusion is clear:
If the union bureaucracy is not defeated and expulsed from the unions, if the fighting masses do not coordinate their demands and raise all demands from the whole working class in one single combat, labor flexibility will be imposed… a tragedy for the Argentinean working class.
The CGT strikebreaker triumvirate, the top union bureaucrats, friends of Crisitina Kirchner such as Furlan, Pignanelli, Palazzo and many others, the CTA Peronist bureaucrats and all others have destroyed collective bargain agreements imposing a miserable 1% monthly “raise” or negotiating company by company as some sectors of the UOM have.
In the middle, they pretended they were quarreling about a miserable minimum salary of 420,000 pesos (288 dollars) a month.
Many comrades wonder why Milei has won the elections or why 11 million have not gone to vote (voting is compulsory in Argentina; fines and administrative restrictions apply for failure to comply with the obligation).
Millions of exploited have been left aside by the strikebreaker union bureaucrats. The working class has been left with its files divided and could not intervene as one fist in the national political life. This creates apathy on one hand, on the other hand many think of abstention as a way of showing their rage.
Union bureaucrats have opened the way for factories and shops to take 50% of the working class in unregistered, precarized jobs. That is the truth.
In the middle of this profound recession, bureaucracy has handed in out thousands of workers who are being laid off. They isolate their struggles and make them impotent. Furloughs and forced holidays are frequent.
Last month, the Central Bank was running out of dollars. Imperialist bankers had withdrawn all their profits. The crash was around the corner. Imperialism hit hard and intervened the nation, so preventing, for the moment, an economic outbreak which they keep as a permanent threat over the heads of the workers.
But the working class was not able to intervene, a sector had its hands tied to Peronism, a party made of servants of the IMF and enemies of the workers.
Imperialism and its parties united the middle class and provoked a reactionary turn. The working class has been left divided by the union bureaucracy, which imposed passivity on it.
The proletariat must get out as soon as possible from this crossroads. And votes that have just been counted cannot define this. Only class struggle can.
And the parliamentary left?
Only promises of victory by pressing the parliament of the rich and actually leaving behind landmarks of defeat.
Far from using the electoral campaign to prepare and organize a huge revolutionary combat, far from denouncing the Peronist and union bureaucrats’ deadly trap as the other arm of the US embassy, FIT-U devoted its campaign to create illusions that by pressing that Wall Street notary’s office of the bourgeois Congress and with left representatives, Milei could be defeated. It is a hoax.
Parliamentary electoral left acts as cuddling pets in the Congress lap. They dress J and UCR emoloyers’ politicians as people’s friends. They say that “strongly pressing them on the streets we can make them change their minds and turn them to the workers side”. Truly infamous.
Those employers’ politicians, together with the union bureaucracy, are the ones that have supported Milei and drafted the labor flexibility law.
The Congress issue was a scam. ‘Let’s press them to vote’, ‘let’s veto the veto’, ‘to march on the streets to vote against the veto’… everything so that the ‘opposition’s big laws’ end up in the burgeoise justice and lay in the drawers of Videlist judges at will. Anyway, FIT-U insists on ‘defeating the vetoes’.
FIT-U has sent the great fights of the Garraham Pediatrics Hospital, the pensioners, the handicapped, State universities, etc., to press the Congress so that Peronism, the other executioners of workers, “votes in favor of the people”. Despicable.
The curtain rose. Now it is clear it was a trap.
That way they have divided the fights and gave CGT and CTA Peronist bureaucracy a free hand to negotiate with and support Milei.
A decisive fight from all sectors that were already taking on the streets, and gathering solidarity from the people, marching on the union bureaucracy to kick them off would have been the shortest way to defeat Milei. Whatever else is a political scam.
The National Congress had already ‘abdicated’ in favor of the king Milei, they had already given him full powers. They lied. They deceived those who are fighting.
A trap and and infamy.
The only truth is that without defeating the union bureaucracy, without establishing organizations (councils, assemblies, coordinating bodies) uniting those who are fighting, we cannot stop the attack of this government and imperialism.
Parliamentary left has played its role: ‘on the streets and with the votes in Congress, which we need to press, we will win’. ‘And if you vote for us,’ they said ‘with a couple more of our representatives, we will be closer to success.’
They have deceived the people. Everything for a couple of representatives.
They did not tell the masses the truth about who they were seeking as allies: a party of Peronist bourgeois lackeys of the IMF and declared enemies of the working class.
I
Meanwhile, the US imperialists have taken Argentina that was on the edge of a crash and default, and with a couple of million dollars they now directly control the economy…
Left leaders as Bregman, Solano, Castillo, etc. intend to make workers believe that IMF, the counter revolutionary murderer of Trump, Wall Street bankers, Netanyahu’s bosses and the North American marine commanders who are about to invade Venezuela can be defeated through pacifically marching to press bourgeois representativos in the congress who are all US servants.
Seriously, their election hangover hasn't worn off.
They took Cristina Kirchner, the greatest serial foreign debt payer and IMF servant, as an ally of the people’s anti-imperialist fight.
Workers, exploited and the oppressed nation are living a decisive moment. Capitalists, imperialism and the upper classes have declared war against the working class and the exploited from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego.
Argentina is merely one of the battlegrounds in that class struggle.
The future of the country will be defined here either in favor of the workers, with a revolutionary offensive of the masses that sweeps away the bureaucrat traitors, or the attack on the working class and the nation will bring the consummation of Argentina as a colony.
NATO already has a base on Malvinas (which the left silence) while the US imperialism gets ready to install its military bases.
The truth needs to be told: this war of the exploiters' against the exploited will stop by means of a Cordobazo, the working-class Coordinators of the 70s and rising up like in 2001 or the exploited will be martyrized.
It is clear why electoralist reformism has abandoned the fight to ‘Let them all go away and not a single one remain’. They need their bourgeois allies from PJ in order to, according to them (even if they try to hide it) ‘stop Milei’.
And socialism? Bregman has already told us … It is ‘for the future’.
Socialist revolution? No way. Because ‘now, elections are coming’…
Once again reform versus revolution is the alternative the working class movement has ahead. Its allies are not in the Congress with Peronism and UCR, repressors and IMF servants, but in the migrants combating in Los Angeles and Chicago, the workers and the youth rising up in Peru, the workers and peasants on general strike in Ecuador and the Palestinian masses.
We want no King! Cry millions of workers taking on the streets in the US. That is the way to defeat the king Milei and all the princes and bootlickers of the bourgeois parliament and the union bureaucracy.
We are on time.
Workers socialist revolution or Colony. In between, there are traitors.
