On June 12, 2006, the Bases Bill will be discussed in the Senate. It is a law wanted by BlackRock, Rocca and the big bosses as a guarantee for their plundering our lithium and Vaca Muerta gas and to impose a labor reform that ends up condemning to precariousness the whole working class in Argentina. A law of slavery and national surrender that the working class has to confront by fiercely fighting the government and its police regime.

But the workers have been led to believe that Milei can be stopped by rejecting the Bases Bill in Congress. This is a lie. The "Omnibus Bill" was already rejected some months ago, and Milei, however, continued the war against the people without any law, by means off decrees and repression. If the Bases Bill is not turned into a Law, the "viceroy" Milei will continue attacking with more decrees, as allowed by the arch-reactionary Constitution of 1853-1994.
They want to hide the fact that Milei is already "applying" the Bases Bill in life, every day, without going through Congress. This buffoon comes directly from the US Embassy, where he receives instructions from Stanley, who also directs the opposition boss parties, the judges and even the trade union bureaucracy.

Moyano (truckers union outspoken leader), the bank clerks trade union leaders, SMATA (autoworkers union) and the CTA (services and State workers central union) are calling on us to confront Milei in a class collaboration front with Peronism (PJ Party), in defense of "national industry". The PJ -which supports the labor reform included in the bill- objects to only one point of the Bases Bill: the RIGI (Big Investments Regulation Tool), which opens completely all the customs barriers and exempts the investors from paying any taxes, creating the ruin of the industrial bosses that produce for the internal market.
By protesting the RIGI they pose as "defenders of the people"; though they are the bosses' politicians who in the previous government caused millions of unregistered, outsourced and term-contracted workers to be ever more precarious and starving. The "serial repayers of foreign debt", those who made a pact with the IMF and handed over the nation to the transnationals and the banks, are now singing "Our homeland is not for sale". It is something hard to buy.
Moyano is leading us to a front where the bosses openly deploy their program, without renouncing to the labor reform or to anything else. The working class, on the other hand, has to postpone its struggle for wages, against layoffs and suspensions. Indeed, how can the FATE tire workers confront the 100 layoffs if they form a front with "national" boss Madanes? In that front there is no place for a general strike or picket lines, nor for an independent workers' policy.

This prevents the working class from deploying its own program against the crisis and unifying the employed, unemployed, precarious and laid-off workers against the government and the capitalists as a whole. It prevents unity with the millions of unregistered workers in the black market, etc., all of whom work without any rights, abandoned by the unions, and who hate Peronism and the union bureaucracy that made them starve and endure raw super exploitation under the previous government. This class collaboration front does not strengthen the working class, on the contrary, it only serves the government and the bosses' gangs.
With this policy, Moyano ends up begging the “undecided” anti-labor senators of the PRO and UCR to be "heroes of the fatherland" and vote against the “Bases Bill"... this is how the bureaucracy "confronts" the government's attack!
No more truce to this government that is waging war against the people!

The struggle is class against class...
 For a proletarian strategy independent

Unfortunately the FIT is marching behind the front of Peronism and the trade union bureaucracy. Far from fighting for an independent proletarian strategy to break with the bosses' politicians and to unify and centralize the dozens of isolated struggles, it also calls, like Moyano, to make a political bloc with Peronism in Congress against Milei and the Bases Bill.

We Trotskyists will march this June 12 to Congress calling on the workers vanguard to fight for a program of class independence against workers slavery and the surrender of the nation to US imperialism.
To defeat the Bases Bill, the DNU and the war of Milei and the capitalists against the workers it is necessary to break with all the bosses' politicians. Any submission of the workers' organizations to the bourgeoisie, no matter how oppositional it may be, only strengthens Milei.
The government and the regime of the big bosses of the AEA and the US ambassador are not stopped in parliament, they are stopped with the methods of the Cordobazo and 2001. That is the way to confront the Bases Bill and Milei's anti-worker DNU!

It is necessary to march to the CGT and the CTA to impose the 48-hour active strike and a plan of struggle to defeat the Milei government.
