DEMONSTRATION IN SUPPORT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION, April 23:

Hundreds of thousands of us took to the streets all across the country against the fierce attack of the Milei government under the command of the US imperialists

In defense of the free public education and to put the University at the service of the working class and the poor

The students in the USA lead the way in struggling against imperialism by confronting Biden in defense of the Palestinian people!

For a tripartite university government by students, teachers and non-teaching employees, with student’s majority!

The huge April 23 demonstration, where thousands and thousands of students and workers took to the streets, showed the predisposition to fight for defending free public education. Students from all universities, high schools, technical institutes, together with workers, teachers, non-teachers, took to the streets in the whole country in a true mass action against the fierce attack of the Milei government. Through budget freezing, the government and the IMF seek to impose the Chilean model of education, a privatization model that charges fees in the public universities, which would leave working class children definitely out of the university.

This struggle in defense of education won’t be solved by the boss parties or the Argentine parliament, which is a true rubber stamp of US embassy and Wall Street. There are the “opposition parties” deceiving the people, while in their jurisdictions they apply the same Milei’s plan. On their part, the University authorities, namely UCR and Peronism, two of the great parties of the US embassy, plus the bureaucracy of the university teachers and non-teaching workers’ trade unions, try to ride on the fair demands of the students, teachers and non-teaching workers to control and prevent a ‘68 Cordobazo-like students’ movement from rising.
Milei is threatening to audit the Universities, liquidating their autonomy. The clique of the principals, deans and the bureaucracy of the trade unions of teachers and non-teachers, won’t defend the education. They will only negotiate their cut in the businesses. They are the ones handing over the science and techniques researched in the University to the monopolies and big industries such as Techint, Bayer, Cargill and others, so they multiply their profits and manage the University budget behind the student’s back. It is up to the student movement to lead the fight for free, quality public education.  So that we are not a tiny minority that can access education, knowledge and science, in a sea of hungry people, while the capitalists and imperialism take away the wealth of the nation.

Open the road to students’ self-organization! Open the road to assemblies at all universities and colleges around the country!
Increase the education budget! Free bus tickets for students in all levels! There is money! No more subsidizing the private education and the church! Progressive taxes to the high fortunes. Don’t pay the foreign debt! Out with the IMF!
For a tripartite university government by students, teachers and non-teachers, with student’s majority!

We revolutionary socialists fight for a University at the service of the working class and the poor. We stand for a University that fights for decent work for all, for a wage increase up to 1 million 300 thousand pesos/month for all workers. We stand for a University that supports all the ongoing workers’ struggles. We stand for a University that fights for 4 hours of study and 4 hours of work, paid by the bosses and the state, for the workers and their children. For the University students canteens to return, with minimum prices so that the poor can eat. For child care in every educational institution for all the women to be able to study.

The audit should be Carrier out by the militant students with the workers organizations for the transnational companies, monopolies and big corporations to open their accounting books. In there we will find the money for wages, health and education. We need to expropriate the expropriators of the people. Let the bosses Chambers and the Llao Llao Forum put the money.
The way forward for this struggle against imperialism is set by the students of the USA, which have risen against murderous Biden (Genocide Joe), and in solidarity with the Palestinian people, to stop the Zionist massacre commanded by the US.

The struggle for free public education, for the workers and their children yo be able to enter the University, will be solved by fighting on the streets and uniting our struggle to the workers movement that can attack the transnationals’ profits.
Let’s set up an anti-imperialist anti-capitalist students movement! Open the road for the workers-students unity! Let’s fight like in the Cordobazo and the French May!
