Argentina - December 17, 2023
100% devaluation, hyperinflation, high price increase and a de facto “state of siege”…
Milei declared war on the workers
at the service of the IMF, the US imperialists and the big bosses
Open the road to assemblies and worker self-organization, without scab union bureaucrats!
National Struggle Committee
of employed and unemployed workers
General strike!
To conquer…
AR$1,200,000 living and mobile minimum wage!
Decent work for everyone! Out with the IMF
Capitalists should pay for the crisis!
The measures taken by the Milei government are a declaration of war against the workers. A 100% devaluation that destroyed the salary to a half in one day, unstoppable price marking up, electricity and gas fee increases of more than 300%, freezing of social plans and the return of the wage tax.
It is a ferocious economic blow launched by direct orders from the IMF and Wall Street corporations.
Bullrich, the murderer of Maldonado and Rafael Nahuel, is here to apply this plan with iron and fire. That is why she declared a de facto “state of siege” against labor organizations, giving discretionary power to the police to repress any demonstration or picket and to requisition trains and buses, and announced the modification of the Internal Security Law to authorize the Armed Forces to take on internal repression tasks again, under the pretext of “drug trafficking.”
We are facing a direct government of the CEOs of Wall Street and the big employers - BlackRock, Techint, Cargill, etc. - and the IMF, which seeks to rely on the police and the reconstitution of the “military party” of the Armed Forces, to deliver a historic defeat to the working class and finish looting Vaca Muerta shale, lithium and food.
The “democracy for the rich” that wraps the dictatorship of the capitalists has taken off its mask… the bosses' dictatorship comes with its bare face.
Peronism advanced much of the work and created the conditions for Milei to come and finish the task.
They left 160% inflation. A fraudulent foreign debt refinanced, with guaranteed interest and profits for the bankers. Leonine conditions for the delivery of Vaca Muerta shale oil and gas, lithium and agricultural income to foreign capital.
The union bureaucracy was complicit with Massa and the Fernándezes in their ferocious attack on the working class.
It left the working class with its ranks torn, split, divided between employed and unemployed workers, temporary and permanent workers, unregistered and unionized Workers. They sold out 60% of the working class, who are now on precarious jobs or unregistered or unemployed, with millions of desperate hungry left to their fate, outside the unions.
Now that Milei has come to finish the job, what are these traitors doing? They are hiding and supporting the attack against the working class, as they did yesterday under Macri and Massa. They are Milei's accomplices!
While Bullrich prepares to violently repress the December 20 march with the worst methods of the military dictatorship, the Peronist governors together with those of the PRO and the UCR are meeting with Milei, and discussing the benefits they Will enjoy for supporting the laws of the “chainsaw” government that attacks the workers. They say they have decided to give Milei six months or one year to rule in peace. A bunch of les! They are giving him the necessary time for him to defeat the workers and lay the foundations of the Argentine colony under the tutelage of the US embassy.
We must put the labor movement on its feet, from the bottom up, without sellout bureaucrats or traitors
The working class has been tied hands and feet. It has suffered betrayals and partial defeats, but it is by no means defeated.
We must call on workers not to delegate anymore and take the crisis into their hands: set up grassroots assemblies, self-convene and organize, recover the factory councils and unions from the base, unite temporary workers, workers under collective agreements, precarious and unemployed workers. Therein lies the strength of the working class to fight for work, wages and dignity and to put an end once and for all to the union bureaucracy and the statization of the unions.
Open the road to the self-organized working class! Enough of the scab union bureaucrats!
In each city, province and at the national level we must coordinate the factory councils of grassroots delegates, the committees of unemployed, the state workers who will be laid off by the thousands, and march on to set up a National Struggle Committee of employed and unemployed workers, where we unite the SUTNA, the UF-Haedo railworkers and the unions and combative sections of teachers, state workers, the unemployed movements and all sectors of the working class that come out to confront this infamous attack by the government.
A National Struggle Committee to open the way to the general strike against those who starve the people, with the method of assemblies, strikes and pickets:
Down with the hunger laws and national give down plan of Milei and the IMF!
For a single national Collective Bargaining covering all workers, be them permanent or term-contracted, unregistered or outsourced, in which we demand AR$1,200,000 of minimum living and mobile wage for all, indexed weekly according to the cost of the market basket, and the reduction of the working day without reduction salary, so that everyone can go to work under a collective agreement and in decent conditions.
Out with the IMF! Not one peso to the fraudulent foreign debt!
Out with Bullrich and its police “state of siege” against the workers!
Nobody can save him/herself alone. There is the example of the oil-mill and banking comrade workers. Its leaders hoped to escape the crisis by signing collective agreements of AR$900,000 or AR$700,000. In one week their wages were reduced by half due to devaluation and inflation.
The bourgeoisie leaves no escape. There is no sector of the workers and the middle classes that is saved from the whip of the IMF. But under that same whip the conditions are being prepared to once again unify the workers' ranks.
This December 20th let's take the first step. Let us transform the event in Plaza de Mayo into a large workers' assembly that votes to set up the National Struggle Committee to stop fighting divided.
The FIT-U can and must put all its forces, its influence on the tireworkers, on railway workers, teachers, the unemployed, state workers, etc. and its parliamentary seats at the service of this urgent call.
The rottenness of the capitalist system leaves no room for parliamentarism or social reforms. Bankrupt capitalism comes for liquidating the conquests of the working class and the plundering of oppressed peoples with fascism and wars.
The genocide in Gaza, openly supported by Milei (and Massa), Is a proof of what they are willing to do to ensure control of the planet's sources of raw materials.
In the hands of the capitalists, Argentina is advancing at an accelerated pace towards its colonization under the domination of Wall Street and the Pentagon.
22 years after the Argentinazo, the alternative “A Socialist Argentina or a Wall Street colony” has become immediate. We must return to the path of 2001. Strike, picket and pot-banging!
Out with all bosses' politicians that give down the nation, out with the IMF, the CEOs and their judges! This task, pending since 2001, can only be carried out by us workers with the method of revolution, in alliance with the poor people and with international unity with the working class of the United States and all of Latin America.
Today more than ever...
We must fight like the workers and poor peasants of Peru, Colombia, Chile, and Bolivia, who faced attacks of hunger and coup attempts...
Like the striking autoworkers in the United States…
Standing next to the Palestinian people who suffer a genocide directed by the same US imperialists that promote a full-fledged attack against the Argentine working class...
Open the road to the self-organization of workers, without sellout union bureaucrats!
Open the road to the Argentinazo!
