Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) - February 10, 2025
The attack is worsening by the M23 armed group and the Rwandan army on the Congolese city of Goma
By promoting a bloody fratricidal war and private armies, the imperialist powers dispute the looting of Congo's minerals
The masses have identified their enemies and attack the embassies of the imperialist countries
In the Congo, people shout:
“Thieves, get out! Death to the imperialists!”
The suffering of the masses in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is only getting worse at the hands of the imperialist transnationals that are plundering the nation, imposing terrible conditions of slavery and even child super-exploitation, with more than 60,000 children working in the mines, in conditions similar to or worse than those in the 19th century, in exchange for one or two dollars a day, with hundreds of them dying from landslides and the inhumane conditions to which they are subjected, just like the entire working class.
Congo is one of the richest nations in Africa, accounting for 70-80% of global Cobalt production and holding 80% of the world's Coltan reserves. These are part of the so-called "critical minerals" and are essential for the technology industry in the manufacture of batteries for electronic devices and electric cars, and also for the war industry.
In addition, Congo is the third largest producer of copper in the world, surpassed only by Chile and Peru, and has Uranium, Gold, Diamonds, Tin, Tungsten, etc.
These minerals are plundered by imperialist powers, mainly USA and England (also through Canadian and Australian mining companies, associated with Anglo-US financial capital) for their companies such as Tesla (Elon Musk's), Apple, Google or Microsoft... All this is guaranteed by the backing of the UN and the government of the DRC and through the support of more than 130 armed groups, made up of the security guard companies of the mining companies and armed wings of these multinationals, which guard the imperialist plunder. The armed group M23 (March 23 Movement) is one of these private armies that, with the support of the Rwandan government, has been intervening in the DRC to take its minerals and enters by iron and fire, massacring workers and the civilian population.
The government of the "red businessmen" of the Chinese Communist Party also has a certain presence in the DRC, from where they obtain Coltan and Cobalt to supply the multinationals established in China and their own technological industry.
The various imperialist powers have been fighting for the control of the enormous mineral wealth of the Congo, promoting real genocides, massacres, fratricidal wars and armed conflicts for more than three decades, which have claimed the lives of 6 million exploited!
After the ferocious genocide led by France and Belgium in Rwanda in 1994, the so-called “Coltan wars” took place between 1996 and 2003 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These were true fratricidal conflicts in which Uganda, Rwanda and other countries in the region also intervened, encouraged by US, English, French, etc. imperialisms, by stirring up the different ethnic groups, privileging some at times, such as the Tutsis against the Hutus, and inciting revenge and massacres, so that they could keep for themselves the precious loot of the “bloody minerals” of the Congo.
M23 and Rwandan offensive is deepening in eastern Congo
Three decades later, massacres and armed clashes continue, always at the service of the voracity of the different imperialist companies. This is what explains the current attack in the DRC by the M23 armed group, which is supported and financed by the bourgeois government of Rwanda, headed by President Kagame, who is fighting the lackey Congolese bourgeoisie over the riches plundered by the various imperialist powers.
The M23 is one among more than 130 private armies owned by mining companies in the Congo, which, by means of torture, rape, massacres and all kinds of abuses against the people, are dedicated to defending mineral deposits and ensuring at gunpoint that children, women and men work as slaves in the mines. The official troops of the DRC government are also part of these massacres that the tormented Congolese people suffer on a daily basis.
The M23, together with troops from the official Rwandan army, the so-called "Defence Forces", have been operating for years in the province of North Kivu, which is located in eastern Congo, bordering Rwanda, and has an enormous abundance of mineral deposits.
Since last year, the M23 and the Rwandan army have stepped up their offensive in North Kivu. During that attack, for example, they seized and occupied the Rubaya mining sites located there, one of the largest sources of Coltan in the world.
On January 27, the M23 captured Goma, the capital of North Kivu province and second largest city in the country, supported by the direct intervention of troops from the Rwandan “Defense Forces.”
This is a fratricidal clash organized and financed by imperialism and its counterrevolutionary private armies; while it is the masses of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, etc., however, who, if united, would be able to shake off the exploitation and armed robbery of the imperialist powers and conquer bread, national independence and well-being, which will only be achieved with the victory of the socialist revolution.
The M23, together with Rwandan troops, is devoted to controlling these territories and guaranteeing the extraction of minerals by the workers, women and children, in order to transport them to Rwanda, from where the transnationals take abroad the Coltan, Cobalt, Gold, etc. stolen from the Congo, paying less taxes. For this reason, Rwanda, which has no known reserves of Coltan, is the world's largest exporter of this strategic mineral. But clearly, it is imperialism that makes the biggest business out of this "black market" of the riches of the DRC, grabbing the minerals smuggled from the Congo at much cheaper prices.
Rwanda has no minerals and yet has officially signed a “memorandum of understanding” with the European Union imperialist butchers, led by France, in exchange for going on financing the Kagame regime, as the latter guarantees them this “supply chain of critical minerals”. In other words, the Rwandan government is openly used by imperialist transnationals to guarantee this plunder.
The Anglo-US pirates don’t stay far behind. Like the imperialist Maastricht, they also take the minerals stolen by Rwanda and its paramilitary groups in the Congo, which they buy for coins, while directly exploiting and plundering the DRC with their mining companies.
Imperialist powers pit nations against each other, paramilitary groups, and impose mass massacres of civilians to discipline the workforce in a devastated region and thus take all its wealth.
All of this is done with the backing of the UN den of bandits that maintains in the Congo the largest “blue helmets” mission in the world, called MONUSCO.
Not to mention the Congolese government: President Tshisekedi is in charge of imposing hellish conditions for the enslaved workers in the mines in the service of imperialist plunder.
As if that were not enough, the servile governments of the black bourgeoisies in the region, such as the ANC in South Africa, or those in Burundi, Malawi, Uganda and Tanzania, intervene in the Congo with troops from their armies to defend the interests of the imperialist mining companies of USA, UK, France, Belgium, etc.
To this day, clashes between the M23 with the Rwandan “Defense Forces” on one side and the official Congolese army, the UN and troops from neighboring countries on the other haven’t stopped.
.
It is the exploited of the Congo who pay for this policy of imperialism with unbearable suffering, widespread famine, thousands of deaths, hundreds of thousands of displaced people... The corpses of men, women and children murdered in Goma are rotting on the streets, while the hospitals are overcrowded.
This is what the advances of the technological multinationals in the capitalist world-economy are all about: their raw materials are stained with the blood of the people they oppress and rob. This is also what Cargill does, as it runs 80% of the food business worldwide and with more than 100 private armies controls Ghana with slave labor to take the cocoa pods, the key raw material for its business.
This is the vile theft of African wealth and the unprecedented suffering of the black working class. BLACK LIVES MATTER!
The black workers in Africa, in USA and wherever they were taken as slaves, have fought and are still fighting. They have been always brave. They fought in South Africa and the entire black continent, in heroic liberation struggles that were expropriated by the black bourgeoisies that keep the countries of Africa as colonies and semi-colonies, and like to flaunt their wealth, surrounded by a sea of hungry black workers. THE black workers have fought and are still fighting in USA, shaking US imperialism to its foundations, as happened in the Black Lives Matter uprising against the Trump government years ago, and acted as the vanguard of the struggle in all the decisive battles of the US proletariat.
Congo masses answer back and put up a fight.
They attack imperialist powers’ embassies, clearly marking who are their main enemies.
By the end of January, Congo workers and exploited, with accurate class instinct, attacked different imperialist powers’ embassies identifying these as responsible for their martyrdom
The masses have taken on the streets, demonstrated, set tyres on fire, looted and burned down the American, French and Belgian embassies located in the capital city of Kinshasa to the cry of “thieves, out!, death to imperialists!”. They have also attacked Rwanda and Uganda embassies and denounced the complicity of all African bourgeois governments and the SADC (Southern African Development Community) scam that orders a ceasefire while these very same governments are the guarantors of the looting of their own countries’ wealth by imperialist transnational companies over the starvation, slavery and death of the working class and exploited.
To end the genocide and martyrdom of the people of Congo, Rwanda and the whole region:
Out with imperialism from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and the whole black Africa!
Coltan, cobalt and the enormous overabundance of resources in this continent must serve African working class and the poor peasants. There lies the money to lift the beaten people of Congo, Rwanda and the black continent out of poverty, to get decent jobs, living, health, education, etc.
We need to expropriate every American, Belgian, French transnational without compensation and under workers control! They are stealing natural resources and also land! We need to expropriate without compensation and under workers control every mine in the hands of the Chinese bourgeoisie!
Out of Congo the UN, all the servile African government troops and the mercenary groups!
We need to disarm fascist armed groups with which transnational companies massacre, enslave and martyrize the masses!
For generalized arming to the people! Workers and peasants militia!
Black bourgeoisies have been all along small partners of imperialist in the looting of Africa. They have become millionaires administering THE spoliation of our nations over a sea of overexploited and hungry black workers and children. No trust in the bloody black bourgeois governments’ SADC summit, they are imperialism’s servants!
In spite of and against Stalinist union bureaucracies that, just like in South Africa turn the blind eye to genocide in Congo, for one and thevsame fight of the exploited of the whole black continent against imperialism and its servant governments! We need to set up an anti-imperialist movement of black Africa workers and poor masses and their organizations to fight and succeed in the expulsion of imperialism. The working class must lead this movement of all exploited masses from the countryside and the city, against black bourgeoisies that together with Stalinism have handed in the anticolonial struggle after the Second World War.
We need to put an end to servant bourgeoisies and anti-worker regimes to impose a Black Republic of Workers and Peasants in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, and with our rebelled brothers and sisters of Mozambique and the masses of Niger, Somalia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Nigeria, Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso, etc. conquer a Federation of Black Worker and Peasant Republic of Central and South Africa which would be the only one able to lift the black continent out of decades of martyrdom and prostration imposed by imperialism and its servant governments.
Socialist revolution in Africa is the immediate way out. Any other way leads to deepen barbarism as in Congo.
Against the treason of the union bureaucrats and the European social-imperialist parties servants of the imperialist butchers who bleed white black African nations, leave tens of thousands of black slaves to die in the Mediterranean Sea or treat them as the lessest kind of workers within the imperialist powers. The powerful African black proletariat must rise together with the black workers in USA, France, etc. to strike as one fist against imperialism together with the working class of the metropolises!
In the imperialist powers: the enemy is at home! The unions and organization must adopt migrants and refugees as their honor members so as to fight together with their class brothers and sisters in Europe and in the whole world for decent work, housing, papers and rights for all! One class, one struggle!
