North American democracy, the purest and most perfect dictatorship of capital...
In these elections, which once again demonstrated the anti-worker, class character of North American bourgeois democracy, currents such as the Argentine PTS (FIT-U) denounce in countless articles the North American “democracy” as “anti-democratic”, but without ever revealing its class content.
As Lenin said against the renegade of Marxism Karl Kautsky, “It is natural for a liberal to speak of‘ democracy ’in general. But a Marxist will never forget to ask: 'For what class?”(Lenin, The Proletarian Revolution and the Renegade Kautsky).
Pure democracy is the lie of a bourgeois liberal who wants to lie to the workers. History knows either the bourgeois dictatorship or the dictatorship of the proletariat. In the US we are facing the "most perfect" of democracies, that is, of the dictatorship of capital. As Lenin said, and as we see in the uprisings of the North American working class of the last period: “There is no state, not even the most 'democratic', whose constitution does not present any loophole or exception that allows the bourgeoisie to launch the troops against the workers, declare a state of siege and others in case of disturbance of public order… ”(idem).
Effectively, the bourgeois democratic republic is the best covering for the dictatorship of capital, of a minority of exploiters over the majority of the working class and the exploited. There is no "democracy in general", except for those who want to hide this reality from the workers.
North American democracy is the most perfect there can be for the bourgeoisie, for the rich, for the exploiting class, and for that reason it is the most infamous and oppressive for the workers. There they openly rule the dollar and wealth, a "plutocracy" of super millionaires over the overwhelming majority of the working masses. An imperialist democracy that dresses in silk the most ferocious Bonapartist and fascist politics with which the United States treats the colonial peoples it oppresses, with the greatest military power spread in the world, with 13 sea fleets, more than 500 military bases, tens of thousands of nuclear bombs and the largest number of troops on the planet known by human civilization.
Even so, in the US, its "perfect democracy" can show its character of democracy for the rich, as is all bourgeois democracy. For example, in the US voting is not mandatory. To vote you have to pay, registering in the electoral register. That is why the bourgeois parties collect funds, publicly and openly, from all US companies, with which they pay the registration to the voters so that they can then vote for them. Of course, the millions of immigrant workers do not vote in that "Caesarist democracy."
But the question does not end there. In presenting their candidates for elections, the labor parties have infinite restrictions, and even once they manage to register them, they cannot even dream of competing with the Republican and Democratic parties, which are financed by all the Wall Street moguls. To give just one example, Bloomberg, Disney, Facebook, Hewlett Packard put more than $ 7 million in Biden's pocket for his election campaign. Between Biden and Trump, they raised a whopping more than $ 2.2 billion. Millions of houses could be built in any semi-colonial country in the world with these funds.
Political parties do not have any input from the state in the US. Everyone has to pay for every minute of radio, TV or graphic media page. The "North American" is expensive and democracy prevents a workers' party from any possibility of spreading its ideas and program among the workers. An unemployed black worker like George Floyd could have run and campaigned for the life of Black people.
Instead, the famous Sanders "democratic socialists" who cloud the world left have millions of dollars at their disposal to campaign, pay by companies or raise independent special committees, where capitalists launder money and launder taxes. Moreover, Sanders, before giving up the candidacy in the primary for the presidency and supporting Biden, had already raised, along with Ocasio Cortez, about 20 million dollars. What a socialists!
That is in that "perfect" democracy, the bourgeoisie has even legalized and regulated the "right to lobby" in the Parliament. What in any country would be considered corruption and the buying of votes by bourgeois gangs -or drug trafficking-, in the US it is openly legal to give money to congressmen to vote for this or that law. Imagine how the workers could win laws in their favor in that parliament of capitalist magnates.
Democracy is referred to a class. For the bourgeoisie, the US is the most perfect democracy for millionaires, sustained by super profits and the looting of all oppressed peoples and the slavery of the American working class itself. A true slaver democracy as in Rome, where only the slave owners voted, in the USA the heads of the transnationals decide.
However, the true essence of imperialist "democracy" is in the "Establishment": the bureaucratic apparatus of the state that does not vote, but are career civil servants all appointed by the monopolies. The career of a state official in the US can only be traveled by those who had a history of having been managers, CEOs or shareholders of large companies. Thus, whether Democrats or Republicans rule, the control of the State apparatus rests with the shareholders of the transnationals
There are still currents like the PTS or the English SWP, who dream of conquering a broad "generous democracy". Can these anti-Marxist charlatans tell us what it would be like? This is the dictatorship of capital, which does not expand, but is destroyed, with the triumph of the revolution and the dictatorship of the proletariat, that is, the rule of the absolute majority against a minority of parasites, to which they must even expropriate up the last penny stolen from the people. |
