In Madrid, last Sunday, a few meters away from Major Square, thousands of protesters gathered together in front of the Ministry of Foreign Relations with the slogans: "The European Union is responsible and a criminal" "Walls? Neither in Ceuta nor Mexico", "We want to welcome the refugees", "Safe passage now". In the center of the protest you could see luggage with painted slogans saying "end the embarrassment", "Madrid wants to welcome" and "In my house, yes".
A group of African youth shouted "Boza, boza!", which is a claim for victory usually heard in Ceuta or Melilla when they could cross over the fence. While they were screaming and shouting slogans, they carried signs reading "We just want to work" "We want freedom!" "We are here to stay" and "We want to close the intern centers". This last slogan refers to CIE (intern centers for foreigners) where the refugees without papers are incarcerated in inhuman conditions.
These centres have nothing to envy to the refugee camps of Syriza in Greece, true concentration camps where 60.000 refugees are imprisoned.
While crying "either everybody with papers or everybody without papers", there was a small neo nazi group from Madrid Social Home which tried to interrupt the protest with a sign saying "Meanwhile, Spain gets poorer and Syria gets blood out". This group of fascists, which carried the flag of the Syrian Assad regime, made a theatre performance of an ISIS execution, as they usually try to relate the people running away from war with terrorism.
With the historical chant "Madrid will be the tomb of fascism!", the protesters managed to expel this fascist group from the protest.
We need our struggles and actions to get a thousand times stronger!
We need the forces of the working class and the exploited, the forces of their struggle organizations as the unions and the left organizations and of all the collectives fighting for the refugees.
Open the road for the refugees!
Workers solidarity is at the order of the day.
One single class, one single struggle against a single enemy!
The liberation of the workers will be done by the workers themselves.
