DAY OF INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY WITH THE WORKERS AND THE PEOPLE'S UPRISING OF COLOMBIA
Sheyma Silavi, Iranian Human Rights activist:
“I send you the message of solidarity and I am sorry to hear the high number of victims who lost their lives in the protests and I can´t say that I am shocked by the number of disappeared people in Colombia, since these regimes are not afraid or ashamed to show their hideous methods of repression. Being from Iran and with a father who was forcibly disappeared by the Iranian regime in 2009, I send my love and support to the Colombian people, especially the families of the victims. Long live the people of Colombia and the Colombian comrades! "
The Iranian comrade, today in exile, whose father was disappeared by the regime of the clerical dictatorship in 2009 in the city of Ahwaz is a tireless activist for human rights, especially in Iran where the murderous regime of the Iranian theocracy maintains a systematic repression against workers and popular fighters, activists, etc., whom it persecutes, imprisons, tortures and condemns to death just for defending their most minimal rights.
She is also a defender of ethnic minorities and indigenous rights. In 2018, he led an international fight for the freedom of the Ahwaz metalworkers and the heroic workers of the Haft Tappeh sugar factory who were imprisoned by the Iranian regime, a fight we shared together with the Commission of Condemned Workers, Families and Friends of Las Heras, and hundreds of activists and workers fighters from Argentina and the world.
