If the mass dismissal succeeds in the Altifibers factory, the employers will want to generalize and deepen their attack!
We can't allow it!
For today, Wednesday at 9:30 in the morning, a march was called for the factory workers Federation whose concentration was in the traditional corner of the National Bolivian Brewery (CBN) in La Hoyada, in defense of labor sources and the attack by the businessman in Altifibers who tries to throw more than 200 families onto the streets and owes them wages since March. It is not the first time that the owner operates in this way, he already did the same to two of his factories, Stimiro and Altiknits, closing them after the Enatex factory had closed with 800 layoffs in May 2016. Now he seeks to impose this massive layoff using the pandemic as an excuse, though the workers denounce that they worked normally to continue exporting alpaca, sheep and llama wool abroad that is why they were surprised with the security seal at the entrance door and a note reporting that the employers had decided to " suspend operations permanently".
The call to the concentration of the march (Instruction 01/20) was expressed for the general secretaries, even taking precautions before the COVID-19. Accordingly, several factory leaders and several Altifibers base factories were arriving with the appropriate chinstrap and latex gloves to win the streets and go to the Ministry of Labor, then a large contingent of well-equipped police to repress arrived on motorcycles and vans where they usually take detainees. The objective was clearly to dissuade and intimidate the factories who were organizing to start the protest march.
Little by little, the factory workers dispersed, however, the police arrested seven fellow factory members without regard, despite them having union membership credentials; five were immediately released, but they kept two arrested from the Copacabana and Altifibers textile factory. They were released a couple of hours later thanks to the mobilization of their coworkers and the union leaders in the factory workers federation. This attack is proof that the businessmen will do their utmost to take care of their profits at the cost of the suffering of the workers and exploited. Enough of persecuting, repressing and imprisoning workers and exploited!
And in fact this harsh reality is also being suffered by hundreds of thousands of workers in the world. The bosses use the pandemic as an excuse to unload the capitalist bankruptcy crisis over them. But the workers have not said their last word and battalions of enslaved workers stand up as in Matamoros in México, maquila with thousands of workers from the automotive industry; in Ecuador the students win the streets along with the workers, Argentina is abuzz with factories in struggle, in Chile where the exploited win again the streets, confronting the Pinochetista murderous regime and its Piñera government, among many others. The struggle of Altifibers, in K’ara K’ara, Sacaba, El Alto, in Bolivia, where they are already beginning to organize themselves, goes in this sense, as the workers' and exploited resistance stands up because there is no quarantine without food. A unified and coordinated fight from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego becomes crucial!
The workers' base and the poor peasants want to stand up, but their leaderships try to tie them hand and foot. Enough with collaborationist leaders who divide our struggle and lead us to defeat!
That the COB immediately break with the "pacification" deal between the MAS and the coup leaders, blessed by the OAS and the UN!
In this week, departmental and national factory assemblies will be carried out to define what course of struggle to take, it is the order of the day to conquer: A COB Congress with base delegates taking into account biosecurity measures before the COVID -19, without collaborationist bureaucrats, to vote on a plan of struggle aimed at once and for all imposing the General Strike that this coup government deserves so much, as it has not hesitated in sending the Armed Forces, the police and the fascist gangs to repress, torture, imprison and massacre us as in Senkata and Huayllani!
Six months after the Senkata massacre, JUSTICE for our fallen in November and unconditioned freedom for all political prisoners!
For self-defense committees aimed at conquering the worker and peasant militia to confront the repressive forces and fascist gangs!
Factory that suspends dismisses personal, or closes must be expropriated under workers control without compensation, aimed at taking over the entire textile branch with a rational plan at the service of the needs of the poor people! To confront isolation let us set up factory committees run by the workers! Let's expropriate the most strategic natural resources like gas and minerals without compensation and under workers' control to finance health, education and factories under workers' control!
