Dear Comrades of the JRCL-RMF,
First of all, we are sending you the breaking news and statements of the tough civil war that has began in Bolivia. We have already sent you our previous statements, which we hope you have received and are following.
We are also sending you a note-statement from the International Network for the Freedom of Political Prisoners, which the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo in Argentina have already signed and that we are asking to be signed and circulated internationally to bring solidarity directly to El Alto, where the masses have rebelled against the coup.
There the exploited are disputing Morales the leadership; it is they, while this bourgeois escaped cowardly, who are leading the fight against the military coup. Just yesterday they went down in a huge march to La Paz with the 32 coffins of those killed in Senkata on Tuesday and were brutally repressed.
This same note was already signed by the relatives of Alfon, a political prisoner of the Spanish State, and we have sent it to be signed by the relatives of the workers of the CNTE of Mexico and of the 43 disappeared teaching school students, as well as to the comrade oil workers from Las Heras.
We are also sending this note to comrades from the youth in China and Hong Kong, to Conlutas, etc. so that they pronounce themselves against these serious events. We hope that you and your international political relations can arrive with your solidarity to the fighting masses of Bolivia, Chile, etc.
Comrades,
As it did years past in Syria, now imperialism has concentrated all its forces in Bolivia to cause a defeat to the masses and to chastise the wave of revolutionary struggles that is running throughout Latin America. As one more example, yesterday a revolutionary general strike broke out in Colombia, which threatens, with the masses in the streets surpassing the Stalinist leadership, to start combatting like some weeks ago the exploited did in Ecuador or as it is happening in Chile.
Imperialism concentrated its counterrevolutionary offensive anywhere the Bolivarian bourgeoisie and Stalinism had been selling out revolutionary processes and the anti-imperialist struggle of the Latin American masses for years. It hit Brazil and Lula gave up. It hit Venezuela and Maduro today is the best applier of US imperialism plans.
A deadly silence reigns throughout Latin America. For the first time since 1960, when the Cuban revolution succeeded, there is no talk of Cuba or Castroism. Every time there were revolutionary mass uprises, Castro used to travel Latin America to strangle and betray the revolution, as he did in Chile in 1973 calling for the "peaceful road to socialism", which ended in a bloodbath, or as he did later, in the first decade of this 21st century supporting the pseudo-nationalist bourgeois governments that expropriated the anti-imperialist struggle of the masses. This time all the Castroite are deadly quiet. That's because they are already the gusanos in Havana that surrendered Cuba to imperialism openly.
What is clear - and which all the Stalinists want to hide - is that the uprising that the Colombian masses are staging at this moment defies and hits Cuban Stalinism directly, as when it became a new bourgeoisie, it sold out not only Cuba but also the Colombian resistance. Castroites were who disarmed and submitted the latter through a “peace pact” signed to the Uribe-Santos government, supervised by the 7 US imperialist bases in that country.
Cuban Castroism, then, signed a "peace pact"... that surrendered Cuba to imperialism and only brought war against the masses and an imperialist offensive. Now, a fierce response from the working class and the peasants develops. There is a huge clash and class war across the continent. Castroism is on the opposite sidewalk, quiet and motionless, so that imperialism - which is stomping unhindered on its Latin American backyard- gives them new business.
Also attached please find our call to conquer a Latin American continental general strike to stop the massacre in Bolivia. There the military is carrying out an open coup. If they impose themselves imperialism will order the Pinochetista generals to kill in Chile openly. They have to scare the people. In Ecuador, the revolutionary onslaught of workers and peasants surpassed the Stalinist leadership and, in fact, paralyzed the army offensive in the streets, as the soldiers lowered their weapons rejecting to shoot the people. A great revolutionary experience, which they also want to hide and we are writing extensively about.
The Ecuadorian government of president Lenin Moreno had hidden in a military base in Guayaquil. Disgracefully, before the armament of the masses and the soviets became generalized, the leadership of the peasant CONAIE (Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador) and the FUT (United Workers Front) went quickly to look for Moreno and vos ministers and brought them back to Quito, the capital, so that the government could be again legitimized by retreating from price increases in fuels and the attacks on labor through labor flexibility, for the moment. This left a government supported by the bureaucracy of the unions and the petty bourgeois leadership of the peasant movement. This ongoing revolutionary onslaught of the masses of Latin America has gone very far...
In Panama, the IMF attack liquidates the education budget. Students are winning the streets against it, as it also happens in Costa Rica.
Undoubtedly our small forces are overwhelmed by these enormous events. Responding to them is not a task only for the small Latin American revolutionary nuclei. We face powerful treacherous leaderships. On the one hand, the Stalinists, who are already being booed and expelled from some of the mobilizations in Chile or Colombia. We face the traitorous and coopted by the bourgeois State national trade union bureaucracies, such as that of the COB (Bolivian Central Trade Union) in Bolivia, the CGT (General Confederation of Labor) of Argentina ...
We also face the renegades of Trotskyism, who have been today put topsy-turvy by the events thanks to their parliamentary cretinism. They say that in the face of fascist coups, of popular military clashes with the counterrevolution, everything can be resolved by convening "constituent assemblies" and getting "more democracy." They are the continuity of Stalinism in bankruptcy. It is clear that the break with imperialism, the conquest of the land for the poor peasants, etc., can only be achieved by the victorious socialist revolution and the workers and peasant governments.
With its “real-democracy-all-the-way” program, this treacherous left repeats the program of the so-called “anti-capitalists” in Europe, which follow Syriza in Greece, Podemos in the Spanish State, Melenchon in France, Corbyn and his followers of the English SWP ... while all together praise the left-wing spokesmen of US Imperialist Democrats as Sanders and company, who only come to deceive and lie to the masses with pseudo-left verbiage.
We know that huge revolutionary forces nest at the forefront of the world working class. The Middle East is setting on fire again. People fight in Hong Kong and in Catalonia. The American working class has not given up. The time has come to stop fighting in isolation and to group the forces of revolutionary Marxists. It is a question of life and death for the working.
We insist and will do it again and again, and continue calling on the Marxist revolutionary currents of the world to intervene, together with us, in the living revolutionary processes that are developping. We need your experience, your learning in the field of the world working class and its political and theoretical struggles in defense of Marxism.
The time has arrived for a new revolutionary regrouping, as the Marxists did in Kienthal and Zimmerwald in 1915-1916. The world imperialist capitalist bankrupt system has sharpened the trade war and is heading for new military conflagrations, while brutally attacking the world working class.
We know we are fighting and we will fight together. So then we are and will be keeping you aware of these latest elaborations and statements.
We are also sending you an English edition of the newspaper The truth of the Oppressed, on Syria and the Middle East, which tells about the great fighting of the masses in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, the Palestinian resistance, etc. We hope heartily that all this could be useful for your combats.
The comrades of the Chilean POI-CI sent you a letter, which we have reproduced along with your last note for all our militants and also uploaded to our website.
I hope you can visit Latin America soon, or either we can visit you there again. We always remember the affection and class solidarity that you transmitted to us and we told our comrades about the warmth of revolutionaries around us and what we felt when we visited you.
Warm regards to you, to the leadership of the JRCL-RMF and all your courageous militants
Carlos Munzer
