We reproduce below the speech of Hadi Abdallah in the rally held in Maraat al Nuimaan (sourthern Idlib countryside)
In the 8th anniversary of the Syrian revolution. Hadi is a journalist that bravely covered, from the very first moment, the Syrian revolution; is committed to it; he went to the battlefront, suffered the bombs of the fascist Al Assad that murdered his fellow cameraman Khaled Al Aissa. In this speech, Hadi states that there can’t be a retreat from the 2011 revolution, and if someone does so he is abandoning the martyrs and the detainees.
From The Truth of the Oppressed, we hereby reproduce his words and his oath, which we take as ours. We add that in this 8th anniversary, we take an oath: those who have sold out the revolution from within cannot be for another second inside it. They are the main cause of the defeats we have suffered.
In this 8th anniversary we affirm that the Syrian revolution continues and will succeed as part of a single revolution in the entire Maghreb and Middle East, which today is on fire again, with the uprisings of Algeria, Sudan, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia and the entire region.
Speech of Hadi Abdallah:
Salam Alaikum. Greetings to you all. This era shall not end. Eight years of revolution and a struggle that will not perish. Eight years of revolution is such a long time; we lived together through sweet and bitter days. We have laughed and cried… We have experienced joy and sadness. With the death of each martyr and each massacre, we would swear to never betray our cause or stray from the path.
We all swore the martyr’s oath: To not stray from the martyr’s path, or change, or betray our values. Our demonstration today is the greatest proof of our loyalty to the martyrs.
8 years, we have seen the numbers grow. And there is no criminal who hasn’t come here and added to his crimes. But with every outrage, we will rise from the rubbles and pledge to keep fighting… to continue… to never abandon this revolution. We will never abandon this revolution until our souls leave our bodies.
8 years and no one defended us against the one who kills us. 8 years and the world has been unable to judge this criminal. 8 years of revolution and we will keep going.
While we shall blame no one from leaving our path, no one should blame us for deciding to continue.
I advise everyone to not abandon this revolution. This revolution is the noblest thing, the highest value that a human can hold dear. We will not give up this revolution. We will renew it. I swear to God, we will not abandon this revolution. We will not abandon the detainees. I swear to the almighty God, we will not betray the martyrs. We will not betray the prisoner’s cries of pain. I swear to God, for the martyrs, we will give our souls and our blood. |
