From Japan to Bolivia - June 28, 2026

Letter from the revolutionary Marxists of the JRCL-RMF against the betrayal of the COB bureaucracy to the rebellious workers and peasants

Dear comrades of the FLTI and, especially those of the LSTI in Bolivia!

I have received your latest documents and renewed my anger at the Paz regime for declaring a "state of emergency" and at the COB bureaucrats for literally becoming accomplices in it. We loudly condemn this violent repression of workers, poor peasants and the working masses by the Bolivian power holders, who are supported by US imperialism and perpetrated it even by mobilizing government forces. We condemn the declaration of a state of emergency! Release the arrested and detained people immediately! Your anger towards the union bureaucrats who betrayed the fighting workers and peasants and handed them over to the enemy class is our anger.

As you FLTI comrades emphatically say, Trump-led US imperialism has now launched a brutal offensive against Latin America with an intention to incorporate it into its inviolable "sphere of influence". It has militarily destroyed the Maduro regime in Venezuela, has been screwing up Cuba by thoroughgoingly encircling it while threatening a military attack on it, and installed another mini-Trump as president in Colombia by replacing Petro... And now, he has made the US-loyal Rodrigo Paz regime militarily suppress the workers' and poor peasants’ anti-government struggle, which had shaken the state of Bolivia to its foundation, by declaring a "state of emergency," thus prolonging its life. Undoubtedly, Trump is aiming to eliminate China's influence in the sector of mineral resources, which was established during the Morales era, and instead, to have the US dominate and expropriate the country's abundant mineral resources.

The people of Bolivia, indeed, all the toiling masses of Latin America who are suffering from poverty, must now be filled with bitterness and anger; their will to continue fighting must be burning bright.
We are convinced that you comrades of the FLTI are fighting at the forefront of these people, as you are exposing the betrayal of those established union bureaucrats, Stalinist remnants, and degenerate Trotskyists. We the JRCL stand firm in solidarity with you.
Here in Japan, we are advancing the struggle to crush the ultra-reactionary offensives of the far-right Takaichi government which leads Japan, a "vassal state" of U.S. imperialism. In solidarity with the fighting Bolivian people and the people of Latin America, we will raise our voices in firm opposition to all the attacks from the Trump administration aimed to turn Latin America into an exclusive "sphere of influence" of the United States.
