Both Colquiri and Huaniuni Unions have declared a state of emergency and demand the realization of the Mining Congress
Let´s recover the Mining Federation and the Workers’ Central from the hands of the leaders who kneel to the MAS bourgeoisie! Let’s fight for the Workers’ Central as it was in 1952, under the legacy of the Pulacayo theses!
Yesterday Mining Federation leaders announced that the Mining Congress would be postponed to March 17th -24th due to one of the leaders (Gonzalo Quispe) being ill. Last year, in December, they have suspended the Congress because Its date coincided with that of the judicial elections
With the news of the suspension of the Congress, Colquiri Union has declared against this decision by quoting the Organic Statutes which postulate a solution to the absence of the general secretary, namely, the passing on of the responsibility to the next in charge. In the same way, Huanuni leaders have denounced Mining Federation leaders for postponing the Congress once more. Both unions have declared a state of emergency and announced several actions together with other Mining unions.
Stop postponing the renovation of authorities in the workers’ organisations! From the working base we need to rise against these leaders that stomp over our working class rights and do what they want. Out with treacherous leaders from our organizations! A Mining Congress now!
Only at a Mining Congress with employed and unemployed miners and without any miner who exploits another miner as the Bosses of Mining Cooperatives do, can vote true fight plan. The first point to be discussed should be to break away with the Arce bourgeois government that attacks and starve the people through the high cost of living.
Huanuni base miners together with Colquiri miners who have shown the way to recover fighting organism by taking over the Workers Central and the Mining Federation in 2022 have the authority to call for resuming that path. Only then th Bolivian mineworkers will be able to conquer union independency from the Arce MAS administration, a government that guarantees the fascist Oligarchy, transnational mining companies and mining cooperatives’ bosses their business, just like Evo Morales has done for 14 years, bleeding the country and handing in our natural resources to imperialism.
We need to break away from MAS and every bourgeois gang! We need to expulse Huarachi and his class-collaborationist bureaucracy from the Workers Central and the Mining Federation! Before it is too late and the government takes away the whole of our mining and working class gains.
